Sugatrain Lounge Bar & Café

When one of Xin Wen's colleagues (or was it her coursemate?) heard that we were heading north for our roadtrip, he strongly recommended us to dine at Sugatrain Lounge Bar & Café. Located on Palmer Street, Townsville’s popular dining precinct and open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sugatrain offers indoor and outdoor dining in a sleek contemporary setting.

Run by a new executive chef, Ivan Butera who is originally from southern Italy and has experience working in various locations throughout Italy, London and, most recently, at Art Restaurant in Christchurch. Ivan specialises in Italian / Mediterranean, modern European and fusion cuisine.

Xin Wen had the char-grilled rib eye served with baked potato, steamed greens and béarnaise sauce ($35). She switched the chips because, you know, we are all 'healthy' people.

Shriya and I ordered the mixed mushroom risotto, shaved parmesan and truffle oil ($26), which I really enjoyed and nearly could not finish.
