Charco Restaurant Cafe

To have a cousin who is learning to be a pastry chef is both a blessing and a curse. Why? Well, because if not for him, I would not have learnt about Charco and the food that they offer.

I was not there to try the food. I was there mainly to catch up with my li'l cousin bro, who is a good-looking, well-mannered and funny young chap. We had a slice of cake each.

I was impressed with the presentation of the cakes. The full flavour of the chocolate was present but it was quite evident that the cake slices had been left in the fridge for too long, as it lacked softness in its texture.

More than one visit is required to really gauge the quality of the cakes here. I reckon the quality would be inconsistent because many of the personnel here are students studying in the culinary academy upstairs. More visits would give the students more opportunities to improve their skills, no? However, ambience-wise, it is still worth a visit. Just be mindful of where your cars are parked, as it is ticketed parking in any part of Subang Jaya, especially in the areas nearer to the MPSJ headquarter.
