I have lived in Seri Kembangan for all my life and I did not know that there was a cupcakery here? How can???
Anyhow, I did find out thanks to technology (I do not remember exactly how I found out but I have a feeling it was one of those random Instagram surfing moments). And so, one fine afternoon, when Alicia had some time in between her lessons, we ducked across to the other side of Equine. Dad and I drive past Putrawalk almost every morning to get to our usual mamak hangout and yet I fail to note that there was a cupcakery.
I mean, yes, cupcakeries are not new a concept but in SK, it is! I mean, we are such a kampung place, okay, so to have a shop specialising in cupcakes is big news.
Address obtained and location checked on Maps, I was pretty confident that I would be able to find it with no problems at all. And surely enough, it was in front of me as soon as I made the turning into the row of shops. OMG, how could I not know when it is located in such a conspicuous location?
Okay, enough self-bashing for one post. On with the cupcakes now.
It helped to be an end-lot shop, as they had windows on one side of the shop that allowed more natural lighting in. Although they were more of a takeaway than a dine-in place, they still had a few seats available, in case.
From what I observed, they do catering for events and also take orders for Raya biscuits. As it is owned by a lovely Malay lady, everything is halal.
There were so many flavours to choose from! The chiller was so colourful from the different cupcakes!
In addition to flavours that we are familiar with, they also had some unique ones that incorporated local flavours.
They also sold other biscuits and cookies, nicely packed in simple clear containers.
I wonder if there will be more cupcakeries open. Regardless, this is a good start!
