I have to thank Jenny for living in Bukit Rimau because otherwise, I would never have known about Brew & Bread in neighbouring Kota Kemuning before Max and Cath. Anyways...
After that first visit with Jenny to Brew & Bread, the impression left in me was the rustic barn-like design of the place. It had thick straw ropes and long wooden beams that ran the entire length of the ceiling.
It was also the first place in KL that housed a coffee roaster. A Giesen, in fact.
They had a long counter with many coffee-related utensils, leading customers to think that they take their coffee pretty seriously.
And of course, it is almost compulsory to display their member plaque from the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe.
The pastries at Brew & Bread are freshly baked without MSG and preservatives, or so they claim. Customers are allowed to have their orders toasted prior to being served.
After seeing all their equipment, it did not come as a surprise that they included cold drip coffee in their menu.
Not too bad, I have to admit. Not the best coffee I have had in the Klang Valley but hey, you'd never know where they will be in future with different beans and new baristas.
